How to get Indian Passport by Indian National

Passport applicants need the following documents:

Basic Documents: 

• Proof of Date of Birth like Birth Certificate etc.
• Identity Proof with Photograph
• Proof of Residence (to be verified at Passport Seva Kender)
• Proof of Nationality

Note: Applicants are now required to present themselves at the respective PSK enabling the PSK officers to take their photographs and bio-metrics for taking decision on the spot.

Online Application:

• Download e-form from here
• Fill in the downloaded e-form with ready General Information
• Save as XML file
• Upload the XML file on online portal
• Note down ARN (Application Reference Number) after upload and submission
• Schedule Appointment Date and Time and Pay the online fees.
• Rescheduling of application can be done twice within a year from the date of submission of online application for passport.
• Fee deposited is not refundable and after one year it is forfeited in case the applicant does complete the documents within one year from the date of online submission.
• While filling online application check the Police Station - Name and Spelling through Know Your Police Station.

Passport authorities have prescribed affidavits as per specimens available on the Passport Portal
